Tutor support – home but not alone!

Whilst TOCES offers a greater range of courses, is highly professional and is associated with more world-renowned equine organisations than any other equine distance learning college, we are proud of our reputation of having a friendly and personal approach with our students.

TOCES is dedicated to providing you with the best levels of advice and support. You will have a designated Course Advisor and the office and tutorial staff are available to assist you at all reasonable times via telephone and e-mail.

Everyone learns more effectively if they’re relaxed and enjoying their studies. Our friendly team are very approachable and will do their best to answer your questions and support you throughout your studies.

“I have studied with TOCES for five years. The support you receive with exams and assignments is fantastic and there is always someone to answer any queries. The study weeks are great to meet other people and the different teaching methods help your understanding. Can’t recommend TOCES enough.”

When you first enrol your Course Advisor will make contact with you, usually by email, to ensure you’re happy and ready to get started, and to answer any questions. From then on you will be able to contact the Course Advisor to discuss your studies. Module tutors provide detailed feedback within your assignments.

Throughout your studies you will receive ongoing support and guidance.

The calibre of course tutors and lecturers is second to none; in addition to a wealth of equine industry experience, most of our tutors hold Honours Degrees, Masters Degrees and PhDs in equine subjects; some are world-renowned experts in their field. On our nursing programmes all of our tutors are qualified veterinary nurses or veterinarians, registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Assignments are marked and graded by subject specialists. When you have uploaded your assignment for marking it is allocated to the tutor who will insert comments into the relevant section of the assignment so you can see exactly which part of your answer the feedback relates to.

Grades are entered into the assignment front sheet, along with further overall comments. Tutors aim to assist your understanding of the subjects; if there is anything that you need help with, you are welcome to contact your Course Advisor.
